Our aim is to support staff and students with:
- Clinical decision making
- Commissioning decisions & policy making
- Life-long learning
Many of our library services are available for staff to use remotely such as online access to journals, book borrowing and document supply.

COVID-19 – restoring services
We are restoring some of the services that were suspended to protect staff and users of the library. In order to maintain safety we have introduced a range of measures including:
• Providing a one-way system.
• Providing hand sanitiser and wipes.
• Quarantining returned library books for 72 hours.
• Reducing the number of computers & study space available.
The book room is not accessible for browsing, please request books via the library catalogue or contact us with your requirements. Books can be sent to your work base via internal mail or collected from the library during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm). Any books currently on loan can be returned to us via internal mail; if visiting the library in person please use the ‘Book Return Box’ in the corridor.
If you are working from home and need to borrow books please contact us first to discuss postal arrangements, in some circumstances we may be able to provide ebooks as an alternative.
All other library services are operating as usual.
a new way to browse and read journals online
BrowZine is an online tool which enables you to browse, read and monitor all the journals available through the library in one place. As well as making it easy to see what journals you can access, BrowZine provides a seamless link through to the full text article.
With the mobile version, you can save articles to your smartphone or tablet and read them offline later. You can also use it to create a personal bookshelf of favourite journals, and be notified when the latest issues become available. Access is given through your OpenAthens login. If you don’t yet have an account, sign up today.
